  • Secure your account. Manage your spending

    Securely lock your CommBank Debit Mastercard when you need to and unlock it again when you don’t. Use it to help minimise your spending while you’re working out the best financial decisions for you.

    • Temporarily lock your card
      Misplaced your card or had it stolen? Add a temporary lock while you look for it and unlock your card if you find it
    • Lock contactless payments
      Prefer not to tap & pay with your card? Then add a lock to only pay using your PIN
    • Lock online payments
      If you’re not shopping online regularly, add a lock to stop online payments from your card
    • Lock in-store international payments
      Spending too much while you’re overseas or staying in Dubai for a while? Lock your card to stop international in-store payments.
    • Gambling lock
      You can apply a gambling lock to each of your eligible cards. This will automatically block most gambling transactions.

Lock in the CommBank app

  • You’ll need to have the CommBank app installed on your phone

    1. Log on securely to the CommBank app & tap Cards on the home screen
    2. Swipe to the card you want to lock and tap on the image
    3. Choose to which lock to activate
    4. Log off once you’re done

Lock in NetBank

  • If you’re not already registered for NetBank, you can register now

    1. Log on securely to NetBank & click on Settings
    2. Click  on Lost, stolen or damaged cards in the Card security & limits section
    3. Click on Manage beside Debit Mastercard and choose which lock to activate
    4. Log off once you’re done

Things you should know

  • Locks don’t apply to transactions that are flagged as recurring (e.g. direct debits) and transactions not sent to us for authorisation.  Transactions made using Tap & Pay set up on a compatible smartphone aren’t blocked. Some transactions made in CommBank branches, telephone, online or mobile banking including transfers to other accounts, bill payments, and assisted cash withdrawals are also excluded. Other conditions apply.
